Artichoke Music streams Halloween night Concert to Support Wildlife Relief

October 31 streaming benefit for Wildlife relief at Artichoke Musc featuringDan Weber with bassist Michael Henchman, local folk duo Pretty Gritty and folk music legend Tom May. The performance was recorded over the last week on the stage at Cafe Artichoke. It will be streamed on Facebook and will also be available for playback on the Artichoke Music YouTube channel.

Artichoke Music is presenting a fund-raising concert Saturday, October 31 at 8pm (PDT). The concert is free online at Artichoke’s live Facebook channel facebook.com/artichokemusic/live.  

Performing will be Dan Weber with bassist Michael Henchman, local folk duo Pretty Gritty and folk music legend Tom May. The performance was recorded over the last week on the stage at Cafe Artichoke in order to control the possible exposure of the artists. It will be streamed on Facebook and will also be available for playback on the Artichoke Music YouTube channel.

With requests for donations being made during the show, all proceeds will go to the Northwest Oregon chapter of the American Red Cross and its efforts to assist those displaced by recent fires in Oregon. 

Also during the webcast Bob Howard, Artichoke’s Executive Director, will be talking with Red Cross CEO Dale Kunce and Ken Cartwright, a Mill City resident, luthier and fire victim who’s home was destroyed in the fires along the Santiam River. Ken is also leading efforts to replace guitars and other instruments local residents lost in the fast- moving fires. Artichoke Music’s retail store is donating several instruments to support Ken’s efforts.

Operations during COVID 19 Pandemic

For the foreseeable future we are holding all music classes online. We are offering live performances virtually and our live stream events will be posted. Our store is open Thurday through Sunday. On Thursday and Friday from noon to 5 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Appointments are available throughout the week. We practice wellness checks and safe distancing for all who enter. Masks are required.
