"A Circus Carol" re-revisited - video

By TOM D'ANTONI // 3 Leg Torso/Wanderlust Circus show is the highlight of the holiday season for many. It's back on December 16, 17 & 18...and so is our 2012 interview with Courtney Von Drehle.

OMN first published this on December 4, 2012. By now, the show is a Portland tradition, usually selling out all the shows. At this moment, there are still tickets available and well worth it. It's my favorite holiday show of all time. I talked with Courtney Von Drehle at the Press Club in SE Portland. Courtney still exists, the Press Club does not, closing in 2014.

At the time, I did not have a tripod with me. That's not an attempt at artsy shaky videography. Courtney is worth it and it's only 8:41 long.

Here's some original copy and up-to-date show and ticket info:

Those who have been awaiting a new take on Dickens' A Christmas Carol, since Scrooged, can finally smile. Your Christmas gift this year is, "a variety revue based on Charles Dickens' classic tale," entitled A Circus Carol. It is a production of Noah Mickens' Wanderlust Circus with live music by 3 Leg Torso on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 16, 17 and 18 at the Alberta Rose Theatre $20 Advance | $25 At the Door | $40 Preferred Seating |$15 12 & Under.

This year 3 Leg tells us, "Hear ye, hear ye!! December 16th, 17th & 18th, we are performing with our beloved friends from the Wanderlust Circus in A CIRCUS CAROL, a playfully spooky holiday revusical and interpretation of the Charles Dickens' classic, starring Noah Mickens as Ebenezer Scrooge, Eric Stern, Tera Zarra, Scot Crandal, Patrick McGuire and many more! Expect to see exciting theatrics, aerialists, jugglers, singers/dancers and music by 3 Leg Torso. Bring the family. ALL AGES"
