The Revivalists were one of last year's major breakout artists. They've long been known in their native New Orleans, where they formed back in 2007. After a couple of indie releases, the band released "Men Against Mountains" in July, 2015, with some major label support. That was the push they needed as they have since exploded onto the national scene. Wish I Knew You is all you'd want a hit song to be: emotional, great vocals, and intricately layered instrumentation. Fantastic lyrics and some rockin' rhythm holding it all together make for one of the best tracks out there right now.

The band is currently on tour and have a couple of area stops in the works. On Thursday, Feb. 16 they appear at HiFi Music Hall in Eugene and roll into Portland the next night for a date at Revolution Hall. Tickets for both dates are still available, but don't expect them to be around much longer.
