She Wants Revenge at Doug Fir (PDX) & The Crocodile (SEA), August 16 & 17 - Preview

By ANA AMMANN // She Wants Revenge West Coast tour comes to Portland and Seattle, August 16th & 17th

After disbanding in 2020 following nearly 20 years of creative partnership, dark alternative band She Wants Revenge lead members Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin decided that their creative collaboration wasn’t quite finished.

A post on the band’s Twitter account this past May explained, “Bands are tricky things. Timing, life, and personalities converge in their creation and magic, but also their demise. They go on hiatus, breakup, members leave, they get back together, sometimes repeatedly. It’s par for the course with complicated relationships, and many bands are just that. We certainly are, but we are also not finished.”

It would seem the universe didn’t think it was time for the band to be finished either. Just weeks after that post, a fire broke out in the Hollywood recording studio where Bravin recorded, claiming the life of recording artist Avery Drift, but sparing his.

In their tour announcement, the band says they are ready for a new chapter and continued evolution. Warfield is excited. “We really just want to continue to grow, both creatively and in reach. We know who we are as a band, but we’re also not the same guys who made that first record, so musically there’s a lot left for us to explore.”

She Wants Revenge kicked off their West Coast tour in San Diego as a five-piece band with a setlist they say will keep both new and longtime fans happy. “The songs we may pull out on any given night are personal favorites, what we feel reflects our headspace and musical taste at the moment, and obviously the hits, though it sounds funny to say that,” Warfield shared.
