This month we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of OMN!

To celebrate this milestone, we invite you to join us for an evening of fun, funk and friendship on Sunday, October 20th, from 5-9 p.m. at The Goodfoot, 2845 SE Stark St, Portland. (21+)  And it's FREE!

The party kicks off with a DJ set by OMN Editor-in-Chief and KMHD host, Tom D’Antoni, and continues with performances by Arietta Ward (Rip City Soul Funk Diva), Metts, Ryan and Collins (Portland Power Blues Rock) and Ken DeRouchie Band (Funk Soul R&B).

ARIETTA “MZ. ETTA” WARD

Referred to as the "1st Daughter of Funk and R&B" as well as the “Rip City Soul Funk Diva”, Arietta Ward, aka "Mz. Etta" is a definitely a force to be recognized. Raised in Portland, Oregon, Arietta is the daughter of NW Music Royalty, the late Janice Marie Scroggins.

Arietta doesn’t define herself by any particular genre. Some would call her Neo-Soul/Blues, others Funk, and still others R&B. However, Arietta is more focused on content and the responsibility that she believes every artist has. “Be mindful of how you deliver. Be mindful of your intent while delivering your messages. When you open your mouth – always hold that intent in the highest positive vibration possible. Artists are healers, music has healing power. Music is sacred.”

Mz. Etta has assembled some of the finest musical artisans to help her spread joy and happiness through an amazing performance you will not forget.

METTS RYAN & COLLINS

If your idea of a real rock band for the 21st century is one that blends the swagger and bluesy elements of classic bands like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Humble Pie, alongside more recent bands like The White Stripes, Black Keys and Rival Sons, then you will love the power trio from Portland Oregon – Metts Ryan & Collins.

The band are: Geoff Metts - Vocals/Guitar, Dain Ryan - Bass/Vocals and Mike Collins - Drums/Vocals.  Each are veterans of the Portland music scene and can boast an impressive list of individual accomplishments.  Metts is an owner of Five Star Guitar and member of Western Aerial; Ryan is one of the hardest working musicians in town also performing with Stone in Love, Ants in the Kitchen and Dirty Little Fingers; Collins has his own studio project, Rooftop Screamers, and has worked with notable artists such as Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon), Lisa Germano (John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, David Bowie) and just about every other major Portland artist you can think of.

Together the trio have created a buzz in the Pacific Northwest playing sold-out shows and featured performances on music showcases. Their song “Oregon” has been featured during the home games of the NBA team The Portland Trailblazers.
