White Ring, September 7th at Holocene - Preview

By MATT HANSEN // NYC duo known for being innovators of the witchhouse genre will play Holocene on Sept. 7th on the Witness Protection Tour

It’s likely been a long time since you’ve heard any mention of "witchouse," that dark microgenre of electronic music that included acts like SALEM and oOoOO. But witchhouse never went dormant for the duo of White Ring (Bryan and Adina Kurkimilis), even during their seven year hiatus from 2011-2018 which ended with the release of their debut studio album Gate of Grief

And while many of the original acts falling under the tag of witchouse have faded into obscurity; White Ring remains to this day as one of few sources to still experience beats with the shadowy "chopped and screwed" aesthetic. Released last week the new single “Eyes 4 U” by White Ring exhibits all the hallmarks of witchhouse production techniques: murky vocals, slowed hip hop beats, and a shimmering atmosphere of electronic brilliance.

“Eyes 4 U” is a single off of White Ring's new album FATE which will drop 4 days after their Witness Protection Tour date at Holocene on Sept. 7th. Don't wait until the album release date when you can hear White Ring's new occult-themed distorted masterpieces brought to life, and during spooky seasons of all times.

Co-headlining the Witness Protection Tour with White Ring is Utah’s Turnabout, who judging by his age and sound has no doubt been inspired by acts like White Ring. Also on the bill is the solo project Sillicone Valley whose enigmatic character-driven syhthesizer weirdness will kick off the evening.

ON TOUR: White Ring, Turnabout, Silicone Valley at Holocene September 7th, 2026. Doors: 7:00PM / (Tickets) 21+
