Night Ranger at Ilani on 11/24/18 Photos

Night Ranger is a rock band that originated in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 80s. The band found success early on with their first album, Dawn Patrol. The album’s lead track “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me” is one of their defining and most favorite rock songs. Their songs have big vocals, strong guitar playing, and these songs are only multiplied in intensity when played in concert.

They would go on to record 12 studio albums, found success worldwide and would put out various live releases over their 35 plus year career.

The band includes Jack Blades (bass/lead vocals), Brad Gillis (guitar), Kelly Keagy (drums/vocals), Eric Levy (keyboards) and Keri Kelli (guitar). Night Ranger's songs are radio favorites and these musicians became go tos in the music business. Early on Brad Gillis’s guitar talents brought him to Ozzy Osbourne after the tragic loss of Randy Rhoads. Jack Blades would become a Damn Yankee and current guitarist Keri Kelli would play in Alice Cooper’s band among others. These are some of the best musicians in the business, but when these forces combine, its pure magic. Night Ranger’s recent show at Ilani was a perfect example of that. Night Ranger rocked the Muze stage and the crowd’s sing alongs through the night made the band proud.

It was nice to see the band taking chances, not sticking to just a greatest hits set, but taking on new songs as well. The show’s kick off track, “Somehow, Someway” from their newest cd, Don’t Let Up shows this band song writing talents remain strong to this day. Night Ranger played a set that took them all the way back to that first album too even playing deep cuts like “Night Ranger”, they threw in music from outside band projects like Damn Yankees and Alice Cooper, but overall gave a set that delivered a good mix of classics and new material. After all these years the iLani show showed that Night Ranger is still very loved, respected and that they are a blast live. Night Ranger is (Still) Rocking in America

I really wanted to go see this show and completely spaced it off, forgot it was right before Thanksgiving! I wish I had been there, looks like it was a great show. IS there any video posted?
