Emily Wells hits Doug Fir this weekend

By Scott Cunningham // Multi-instrumentalist creates rich soundscape on new album

Emily Wells visits the Doug Fir Lounge Friday and Saturday, February 19 &20 in support of her recently released album Promise.

"Promise" is a dive deep into the psyche of Wells as she explores themes ranging from climate change to frienship to fears both large and small. All of the material is original and Wells plays virtually all of the instruments, including violin, viola, drums, synth, guitar, and bass.

Merging these themes while being a multi-instrumentalist (check out the video below) could easily be a path to getting overwhelmed and lost. Not so for Wells as she blends them all in a way that makes sense in the soundscape and lyrics of the album. Watching her put all of this together live is quite the treat.

Tickets for both shows are still available and are $14 in advance, $16 at the door. Friday tickets and Saturday tickets can be purchased through Ticketfly.

Tonight, Wells is joined by Lorna Dune; Dune returns on Saturday with Willis Earl Beal as well.
