David Vest Skypes with OMN about his new album, Blues Festival appearance

By TOM D'ANTONI // David Vest talks about his a new album before his appearance at the Waterfront Blues Festival on Saturday, July 7. We Skyped.

I wanted to run this last week, during the Waterfront Blues Festival and before his appearance there. I didn't because we had so many great photo galleries and stories, I didn't want it to get lost among them. See Jason Kaplan's photo gallery of his appearance here.

OMN's Coffeeshop Conversations return Thursday, July12 with one on Amanda Stark, Executive Director of The Old Church Concert Hall about all the great new things and restorations going on there.

The great Boogie-Woogie Blues pianist, vocalist and musical polemicist David Vest talked to me before coming to Portland to play at the 2018 Waterfront Blues Festival. Hear all about his new album named David Vest.

He appeared on Saturday, July 7, coming South from Victoria, where he's lived for several years since he moved from Portland.

I decided to take the audio from the first Skype "ring" so you'll hear us saying hi and catching up before we get to the new album. It's just how old friends talk to each other.
