By SCOTT CUNNINGHAM // Appears at Doug Fir Lounge on June 6 with Brandy Clark
In the music world, taking four years to release a follow-up to your debut album is forever. Most artists would do better just to start over.
For Charlie Worsham, though, the gap between releases was evidently time well spent. After his 2013 release "Rubberband", Worsham became disaffected with music and took some considerable time to reconnect with his inner musical voice.
The resulting album, "Beginning of Things", was released last month and has already racked up some impressive attention from the likes of NPR and CMT, which recently premiered the official video for Cut Your Groove, a wonderful track with inspiring lyrics, first-rate musicianship, and beautiful imagery.
Worsham is currently on a co-headlining tour with Brandy Clark and swings through Portland next week. The two appear at the Doug Fir Lounge on Tuesday, June 6. Tickets are still available.
