By DIANE RUSSELL // We couldn't go to the Blues Festival this year, so it came to us.
Like everyone in Portland, I'm missing the Waterfront Blues Festival this year. So today, I headed out for a walk in the neighborhood, and ended up at one of the eight traveling concerts that are happening in the Portland area this weekend! What a surprise! I knew this was happening, but wasn't expecting it in my neighborhood. It was so great to hear live music again from some of my favorite musicians!
The Blues Festival Bandwagon is doing eight shows all over the city on July 3 & July 4, to honor a select group of nurses, teachers, senior care workers, veterans, long time Blues Festival fans, and a mom fighting cancer. This is a wonderful thing for the Blues Festival to be doing during these difficult times, and I hope this tradition will continue even after the pandemic is under control.
Bless you DIANE, TOM and ALL THE MUSICAL TROOP. This warms my heart. The next Blues Festival will be the best one ever.
Thanks for covering this Diane.

Thank you, for the shout out. It was a unique experience and definitely strenuous but it was also energizing.
