By SCOTT CUNNINGHAM // New album is a great addition to their discography
Big Head Todd and the Monsters swing through Portland this week with a stop at Revolution Hall Thursday. Some bands just seem to get everything right from the start and BHTM is most definitely one of those.
Based in Colorado, the band has carefully grown their fan base and has maintained full control over their own business model. Their efforts have yielded huge dividends since their first release in 1989. They are a strong draw on the blues festival circuit and their set this year at the Waterfront Blues Festival was fantastic.
Their most recent release, "New World Arisin'", dropped last month and has been very well received, garnering radio play across the country. It is the band's eleventh studio album and was recorded at E-Town Studios in Boulder, CO.
As part of the promotional efforts for the album, BHTM frontman Todd Park Mohr recently took to Reddit for a brief Q&A with fans. It is well worth the read for dedicated fans, with a few gems thrown in, and shows how the band has cultivated such a wonderful relationship with fans.
ON TOUR: Big Head Todd and the Monsters appear at Revolution Hall in Portland on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017. Doors 6:30PM / Show 7:30PM. Tickets are still available. Note that this is a 21+ show.
