Coheed and Cambria set to re-issue The Color Before The Sun and play Portland

By Ruben Mosqueda // NY 'Alternative Prog-Rockers' Coheed and Cambria to make it out west.

Coheed and Cambria bring their ‘alternative prog-rock’ to The Roseland Theater on September 14th, 2016.  Coheed and Cambria will be on the road in United States this fall with Saves The Day and Polyphia in direct support. The tour kicks off in Seattle, WA on the 13th, Portland being the second stop on the extensive North American tour.

Coheed and Cambria [founded in 1995] is fronted by singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez who has one of the most unique voices in rock and whose voice is akin to RUSH’s Geddy Lee. Sanchez shines as a lyricist and musician. The band established a cult following early on in their career and continues to remain relevant force to this day. Sanchez and Co have been dishing out conceptual records since their inception; the albums revolving around The Amory Wars storyline [Note: highly recommended that you search this online, too long to go into here].

Coheed and Cambria issued their latest effort The Color Before The Sun in October 2015 via 300 Entertainment. The album marks the first effort by the band that is not a conceptual piece. The Color Before The Sun received critical acclaim from critics and fans alike. The album is being reissued in deluxe/expanded form dubbed  The Color Before The Sun-deconstructed. The new version of the album features bonus studio tracks as well as bonus live tracks; which is sure to please diehard fans. What better reason for the band to hit the road?
