As the snow quickly melted from a recent winter storm, 070 Shake made a stop in Portland, Oregon at the Wonder Ballroom. The show was in support of her recently released 'Petrichor' album. Johan Lenox and Bryant Barnes joined Shake as part of the US portion of the tour.

Johan Lenox started the night with a binaural and pop Imogen Heap sound. Two local string players supported him on stage as he had been collecting local artists at each stop. Bryant Barnes followed shortly after with a series of love songs. He played a yet-to-be-released tune inspired by the movie 'La La Land.'

Both supporting acts performed in front of a large translucent curtain. When it came time for Shake to perform, a large silhouette of her could be seen. Her first song was performed entirely from behind this curtain with occasional glimpses of her and the band in the shadows. The band stayed behind, and fans went wild when she came to the front. Throughout the evening, strong flashes of light reflected and images were projected on the curtain.

Fans were familiar with the songs played throughout the night, but 'Pieces of You' was the first where you could noticeably hear the fans singing along, and their participation built as the evening went on. As 070 Shake engaged with the crowd between songs, fans threw a hat as well as cigarettes on stage. Shake lit up a few, and the smell of just one permeated the venue.

Shake shared a few heartfelt words about songs, including 'Vagabond,' but was interrupted by overzealous screams from fans. Shake seemed very stoic most of the evening, but a few smiles and energy changes were felt when performing 'Cocoon.' If you are unfamiliar with 070 Shake, as I was, her musical sound feels similar to The Weeknd; however, the emotion does not feel as heavy, and there is a freshness to it. This allowed the evening to ebb and flow but never dull.
