On this Episode of Marti’s Music Kitchen – The FUN Music and Food Podcast Where Anything Can Happen - Things in a Super-HOT the kitchen with the High-Energy blues-driven band, Sister Mercy. On the next episode of Marti’s Music Kitchen, the Heat is ON with the high-energy blues-driven band, Sister Mercy. These guys have won the Portland Cascade Blues Association Journey to Memphis award TWICE, and were semi-finalists TWICE in the International Blues Challenge – most recently in 2018.  They have a show that is a FEAST for the eyes, and also a passion for spicy food.

“Debby and Roger are like the band “Mom and Dad,” says the lead singer, April Brown. “I call Debbie Band-Mom... (or older sister), In terms of like …it’s their home…and they take care of us. They house us if we have to stay the night….I think food brings everybody together. So we feel like a family – definitely.”

 Migas

 Corn Tortillas

Mexican Cheese

Eggs

Vegetable Oil

Salsa

Tear the corn tortillas into small bite-sizes bits and fry them in the vegetable oil in a large pan on the stove.

When they are crispy add eggs that are scrambled into the pan and stir until eggs are cooked.  Put in 2-3 Tablespoons of salsa and top with cheese.

Portion depends on how many are eating.   4 tortillas work for 2 folks with 2 eggs.

  

Salsa

 Put all ingredients into a blender

 1 24 oz can of petite diced tomatoes.

2 Whole jalapenos with the tops cut off (leave in the seeds)

1 bunch of cilantro, cleaned and stems cut off.

3 T olive oil

3-4 cloves of garlic

Salt to taste

 Blend until chunky.  Enjoy
