Red Bull Sound Select Teams up with Rock 'N Roll Camp for Girls for Girl-Powered Showcase

Red Bull Sound Select hosts another of its $3 showcases in Portland, partnering with local non-profit, Rock ‘N Roll Camp for Girls on Thursday, September 14^th at Mississippi Studios. The showcase, curated by another Portland staple, She Shreds, brings a commanding bill of rockin’ ladies including headliner, Bully, supported by Portland locals Black Belt Eagle Scout and Surfer Rosie.

Rock ‘N Roll Camp for Girls, a Portland born and bred organization, builds girls’ self-esteem through music creation and performance. Providing workshops and technical training, it creates leadership opportunities, cultivates a supportive community of peers and mentors, and encourages social change and the development of life skills.

The night will offer an authentic showpiece of exactly what Rock ‘N Roll Camp for Girls has to offer in building strong, talented, and confident musicians through and through. Katherine Paul of Black Belt Eagle Scout and all members of Surfer Rosie are themselves Camp alums.

“Rock Camp taught me everything I know about music and how to play with other people. Providing girls with mentors that look like them and play music that they want to play makes a world of difference,” says Gillian Brase, bassist and vocalist for Surfer Rosie.

RSVP now to secure your $3 tickets for the peppy punk of Bully, the enchanting lo-fi of Black Belt Eagle Scout, and the dreamy, explosive sound waves of Surfer Rosie.

You can also pick up custom event posters featuring designs by four local Portland-based artists for a minimum donation of $3, with all proceeds going back to the Rock ‘N Roll Camp for Girls.

This show is 21+, $3 with RSVP | $10 without. Doors at 8pm | show at 9pm. Entry is first come first served so arrive early (these tend to hit capacity)!
