Here's Music Millennium's Terry Currier and his top 15 albums of 2019
1. Long Ryders - Psychedelic Country Soul: First Studio album in 32 years. Worth the wait. Title says it all. You won't be disappointed
2. Ex Hex - It's Real: Charged-up Pop/Punk in the vein of the Go-Go's/Blondie. Could have fit in the late 1970's, but fresh sounding today.
3. Fleetwood Mac - Before the Beginning: The original Fleetwood Mac's lost live recordings. Amazing performances.
4. Darkness - Easter is Cancelled: Heavy Les Paul guitar, a vocal assault up there with Freddy Mercury. It rocks!
5. Rubinoos - From Home: Amazing new album from 70's Power Pop band. Energetic, beautiful vocal harmonies, great fun songs.
6. Peter Frampton - All Blues: Frampton has continued to make great albums. This all Blues album shows how great of a guitarist he is.
7. Mercury Rev - Bobbie Gentry's The Delta Sweete Revisited: Mercury Rev cover Bobbie Gentry's unsuccessful follow-up to her Grammy Award winner, Beautiful Dove
8. Noctorum - The Afterlife: Marty Wilson-Piper from The Church makes a melodic psychedelic album that ventures into heavy territory.
9. Joe Jackson - Fool: This is his best album in years. Solid songs and great delivery. Ever been a fan? Pick this one up.
10. PP Arnold - New Adventures of: First album in 50 years. She has sung with Ike & Tina, Small Faces, Rod Stewart, Roger Waters and more. Wonderful.
11. Anderson Council - Worlds Collide: Power Pop rooted in the late 60's/early 70's. Some are very catchy
12. Kacy & Clayton - Carrying On: Feels like a British Folk/Rock album from the late 60's/early 70's. Kacy has Sandy Denny-like vocals.
13. Peter Perrett - Humanworld: Only One's lead singer puts out 2nd album in two years after 21 year absence. Fresh-sounding and tasteful.
14. Comet Is Coming - Trust In the Life: One of the exciting UK Jazz scene bands. Funky, cosmic, fresh, exciting and adventurous.
15. Robert Ellis - Texas Piano Man: Singer/guitarist takes a u-turn and makes a piano record in the vein of Leon Russell and Elton John.
ALSO:
Stray Cats "40"
Kyle Craft "Showboat Honey"
Kingfish Christone "Kingfish"
Steve Earle "Guy"
Fruitbats "Gold Past LIfe"
Yann Bereso "All"
Jevan Williams
Great list! I would have put The Head & The Heart "Living Mirage" somewhere in there, but otherwise, nothing to disagree with.
