Cold War Kids made their second stop of the 20 Years Tour in Portland at the McMenamin's Crystal Ballroom, celebrating exactly that - 20 Years of CWK.

The night opened with Hovvdy (pronounced "howdy"). The band, led by Charlie Martin and Will Taylor, hails from Austin, TX. It was clear the band refined their sound and presence in the city known for live music. Their tracks made you feel a little like you time traveled to a 90's RomCom soundtrack with a modern update.

Cold War Kids kicked off their set with Who's Going to Love Me Now. After a few high-energy tracks, the band slowed it down for a little bit, with Sunday in the City, announcing that they would be playing a lot of new songs from their self-titled album released late last year. The crowd sang along to finish Louder than Ever. The lead singer, Nathan Willet, spun around shaking his maraca as he danced to Ceiling Fan, where at the beginning of the song he said they don't get to play it too often, and is one of his favorites.

This was followed up by a single that was released just the day before, Heaven in Your Hands, the crowd bobbed their heads throughout in approval. The rest of the evening included fan favorites with new songs evenly sprinkled in. Notably, My Heart Won’t Break, where it seemed that fans' energy took off. The band paused to wish drummer, Joe Plummer a happy birthday.

The night came to a close on a high note with This All Could Be Yours and Something is Not Right with Me.
