There is a new band in our Portland, rock community. My Friend, the Monster. This band first originated in 2005 under the name Fury For The Sun, which has now over the years evolved into its current lineup. The band features Anthony King (vocals,guitar), Tyson Bohanan (lead guitar), Dustin Lawrence (bass) and Michael Spitler (drums). They just played their first live show as My Friend, the Monster at the Analog Theater in support of their release for their new EP, "The Dysfunctional EP". Openers included The Mossbacks and Jet Force Gemini. Hard rock fans were given a great triple bill, and for a great price I might add. 

Walking on stage dressed in true rock n roll style with a thunderous drum introduction provided by Michael. They unleashed their hard rock fury which includes bouts of metal and punk rock. Their first live show and EP will get them off to a strong start, and as they continue to play more dates, fine tune it's live show, and grows it's sound, this band will really be a force to reckon with in Portland.
