George Colligan headlines and plays two diverse sets. A festival full of mind-blowing Jazz. August 20 & 21.
The Montavilla Jazz Festival began in 2014, in a dark, sweltering room full of intensity and inspiration for both fans and musicians alike. The sweaty gathering of Portland's most talented players was a contrast to some of the other Jazz festivals which have grown safe and predictable. There was nothing predictable about it then, nor when it moved to a new location; Portland Metro Arts, 9003 SE Stark St., Portland, OR 97216.
It's there again this year on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21. Tickets and full festival information here.
OMN has been a media sponsor since the festival's inception.
One of its principals is co-founder and programming director (another term for curator, I suppose) Ryan Meagher. Listen to his OMN Coffeeshop Conversation from January 2016.
Check OMN for more as we get closer to the festival.
