Huffington Post to buy Oregon Music News - staff stays intact

"We are happy to help them continue on their path to excellence. We will be keeping the staff intact, and giving them substantial raises. We know it has been a tough road for them and that they have worked hard with wonderful results," Arianna Huffington

Although the papers have not been signed, we have been authorized to announce that a deal has been struck between Oregon Music News and the Huffington Post for the online journalism giant to purchase the Oregon online music magazine.

Reached on a book tour for her latest work, Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and WonderArrianna Huffington said, "We have looked around a lot for stable, diverse webmagazines to add to our family of publications. Oregon Music News has been around for four-and-a-half years, has published over 11,500 posts, is rooted in the fertile Oregon music scene and has demonstrated both longevity and fine work.

"We are happy to help them continue on their path to excellence. We will be keeping the staff intact, and giving them substantial raises. We know it has been a tough road for them and that they have worked hard with wonderful results.

"As you may know, Tom D'Antoni, OMN's Editor-In-Chief was among our first posters. Here is his work for us. He stopped writing for us when OMN was in the planning stages."

OMN will undergo a re-design and other improvements including offices and other amenities it so richly deserves.

Huffington added, "Music publications come and go...mostly go. Why? Because they are based on a narrow view of music, mostly dealing with Indie and/or other styles which are only temporarily popular. OMN has a lot of Indie coverage, but it is not targeted only to millennials as other, newer magazines are. That it is an all-genre publication was very attractive to us.

"We liked Oregon Music News because it is not the new kid on the block, that it covers all genres of music and is run by folks ages 67-16. No other publication, especially newcomers, can say that."

Oh, and by the way APRIL FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
