By BRENT ANGELO //

Adam Aminé Daniel, who is known affectionately by his fans simply as Aminé just kicked off his 2022 headlining tour, The Best Tour Ever tour here in Portland at the Moda Center’s Theater of the Clouds. It was billed as his Homecoming show since Aminé was born and raised up right here in Portland.
Aminé started his rap music career in 2014 releasing his first online release, Odyssey to Me. He continued to write, release the EP, En Vogue and released another online mixtape, Calling Brio in 2015. In 2016, his first official single release, “Caroline” made people take notice seeing the song go up the Billboard Top 100 reaching all the way to number eleven. Aminé followed that success in 2017 with his first official album, Good For You as 2018 saw the release of his second album, OnePointFive. His most recent album, Limbo was released 2020 while Aminé’s followed that in 2021 with another online release of TwoPointFive,
Unfortunately, 2020 would be a hard year on music business due to the Covid-19 pandemic so any plans to tour in support of Limbo was put on hold. With the pandemic seeing some better times especially with the fact more were getting vaccinated, concerts started getting scheduled again. Aminé announced his 2022, The Best Tour Ever Tour that has him touring the United States, including shows in Canada, and heading over to Europe later this year. It is no surprise he would kick off the tour here in Portland. Aminé was born and raised here growing up in the Woodlawn neighborhood and graduating from Benson Polytechnic High School. He may reside in Los Angeles now, but his love for Portland remains strong.
The 2022 tour stage would be Aminé’s vision which included nods to the Rose Quarter (now Moda Center) and the bridges of our Rose City. His mainly teenage audience filled the Theater of the Clouds. The Moda Center had strong vaccination protocols in place which made the event a safe one and fans did their part inside wearing masks throughout the show. With the stage safely set, Aminé took to his stage. From the beginning, the energy was high. The moment of headlining the Moda Center was truly a full circle moment for him. Aminé showed his humble side as he shared memories of him going to the Moda Center. He was all smiles throughout the night in celebration of his first official arena show. Aminé also showed his respect and love for his fans. At times, he would yell out “You’re Beautiful” and would get the fans response back of “I Know”. There was a real positive vibe throughout the night. There were also special moments like when fellow rapper, Vince Staples showed up as a surprise guest performing the song “Pressure In My Palms” from his 2020 Limbo release.
Aminé is just twenty-eight and has been growing as an artist since he started in 2014. He has played past shows here in Portland that included venues like the Crystal Ballroom and the Roseland. The Theater of the Clouds showed his growing popularity.
