Amanda Gresham: Coffeeshop Conversations #69 - Making the Louisiana Pavilion at the Waterfront Blues Festival and the joys of United By Music

By TOM D'ANTONI // She has provided OMN with our WBF home and also helps run an organization which spreads much joy.

We're back at World Cup Coffee and Tea for another OMN Coffeeshop Conversation. The 2016 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is coming up and I thought you’d like to meet the person who is responsible for allowing OMN to have our famed “Comfy Booth” at the festival since 2010.

She’s Amanda Gresham who’s Delta Music Experience Louisiana Pavilion near the Front Porch Stage is also home to United By Music North America an organization headed up by Amanda and her mother Barbara Hammerman.

UBMNA is performance-based program for musically talented people with development and intellectual challenges and delays.

We’ll find out about all that and her adventures in New Orleans.

Let’s meet Amanda:

We had so much fun Tom in our wide-ranging coffee-talk. Your listeners will hear in this discussion about the many areas of the Delta Music Experience Louisiana Pavilion, which this year includes the first ever West Coast Festival representation of the Brand New National Blues Museum! Festival participants will be able to visit with Museum representatives including NBM governing board member Barbara Hammerman and special surprise guests throughout the Waterfront Blues Festival. NBM joins our other DME Louisiana Pavilion Family of organizations and projects which include our friends from Oregon Music News, United By Music North America, Cascade Zydeco and Louisiana Parish and tourism representatives, and PBE Kids Crafts Zone and information about Delta Music Experience Blues Cruises in the DME French Quarter Market which has lots of Lagniappe and Beads and Boas and fun merch!

Very entertaining conversation! The artists of United by Music North America really appreciate Waterfront Blues Festival and Amanda Gresham's Delta Music Experience for supporting and presenting our performances over the years. Oregon Music News has been right there with us as we gain awareness of this unique, super-talented performance-based program. It's festival time! www.ubmna.org For full festival schedule of appearances by United by Music North America.
