Tamar Berk 4th Solo Album, Pynnacles reunion

Tamar Berk will be at Music Millennium for an  in-store Performance & Signing tomorrow, November 23rd at 5 pm.  

On Wednesday, she and Oregon Music Hall of Famer Sean Groghan reunite for a much awaited reunion show of the Pynnacles at Mississippi Studios. The Pynnacles started as a one off to celebrate Nuggets Night, an evening of music from and like the Nuggets series of records, but quickly became a powerhouse and dance floor filler in Portland. Made up of veterans from the scene, member’s former and current projects include Satan's Pilgrims, Big Elf, Paradise, Crackerbash, Starball etc. The band focused on creating music in the vein of the period from 1965-67 when young people across the world picked up instruments in a attempt to mimic their idols and in doing so created Garage music. Pummeling, reverb drenched, organ rolling, beehive buzzing rock and roll.

After she moved to San Diego with her husband Steve Denekas, she pulled out her old notebooks and demos recordings and embarked on a solo project. Since the debut of her first solo album, she has produced three more in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Each album has been nominated by the San Diego Music Awards for the best indie pop album of the year. Tamar has a massive opus as the founding member and primary songwriter and arranger in several prominent and popular bands in Chicago and Portland, including Starball, The Pynnacles, and Paradise.

Tamer is sassy, tongue-in-cheek, direct , funny , ironic, sensitive, romantic, and often satirical, hitting the characters in many of her songs right between the eyes before they even see it coming.
