Squid Pisser, February 10th at Mississippi Studios - Preview

Squid Pisser will return to Portland to spread the virulent gospel of their sophomore album Dreams of Puke, a twenty minute, cellular-mangling, full-body musical infection of intense, effects-soaked grindcore riffs driven forth by tightly timed, madhouse drumming and unhinged late night cartoon vocals.   

Originally conceived as a duo by Tommy Meehan (Cancer Christ, GWAR) and Seth Carolina (Starcrawler), Squid Pisser have steadily amassed a hive-minded monster of brilliant musicians, and Dreams of Puke continues the sonic assault that began with 2023’s ferocious My Tadpole Legion. While the latter work feels like getting bareknuckle boxed in a swamp with tracks like “Liquefied Remains” and “The Everlasting Bloat,” Dreams of Puke is a feverish tapestry of soundscapes. Opening with the hypnotic “Heaven’s A Place on Earth” and surfing out on the wave of visceral guitar work that is “Lord of the Slog,” Squid Pisser have concocted a raucous and raunchy album that’s nothing short of an alchemized miracle of sleaze.

Whether they’re crawling the walls of Mississippi Studios or stirring everyone into a blissful frenzy under the bridge at Speed's Auto Body, one thing is always certain, you will leave transformed into a bolder, better you. Also on the bill are noise supergroup Buñuel and local experimental duo Sea Moss.
