By TOM D'ANTONI // Saxophonist Pete Peterson juggles multiple bands, composing, a full schedule of teaching. Find out how. At the end, listen to a tune he plays on with Ben Rice's band PDX Hustle
Lucky me. You found us again. Coffeeshop Conversations is not quite back at Artichoke Music. In the meantime, the reason we still exist, not to mention sound so good is because Paul K Ward is at the controls at his studio blue…two words, all lower case.
I am at my desk in Northwest Portland. Today’s guest, joining Paul is saxophonist Pete Peterson. Pete is one of the busiest musicians in town. He’s in multiple bands and has been for a long time. Among others, he plays with Ben Rice’s PDX Hustle and when Pete and I are done talking, you’ll hear their newest single.
Pete also teaches and is a recording engineer himself. Matter of fact, he recorded and plays on that track.
So let’s jump in and find out how someone juggles all of these things at once.
