“Marti’s Music Kitchen” Lifts Off on OMN July 4th With LaRhonda Steele! Listen to the promo.

Portland’s own Jazz Singer Songwriter, Marti Mendenhall, will launch her new food and music podcast, "Marti’s Music Kitchen," this summer on Oregon Music News.

The podcast is set to takeoff as the first official guest, LaRhonda Steele, announces the July 4th launch at the Waterfront Blues Festival.

Marti will feature musicians, chefs and foodies, sometimes cooking on the air, or enjoying a conversation at one of Portland’s many outstanding eateries and sharing personal stories of the connection in between the culinary and the melodic.

“This show will be a fun listen for our fans,” says Mendenhall. “Listeners can pour a glass of wine and pull up to the table with some of their favorite musicians, bands and chefs. Anything can happen in the kitchen!”

Already well-known as a jazz singer, songwriter and producer, Marti Mendenhall spent the last year developing her interview chops with Portland Radio Project.

Among her guests were Dr. Ethan Sperry (Conductor, Oregon Repertory Singers), Barnaby Tuttle (Teutonic Wine Company), and Naomi LaViolette (Saving His Music, Lullaby Project).

Seventeen Podcasts are slated for the start-up year and will be available on Marti’s Music Kitchen via SoundCloud (Available July 4th), Marti Mendenhall and Oregon Music News websites. Twitter, Instagram and Facebook will feature photos, articles and outtakes from the show using the hashtag #MartisMusicKit.
