Fratellis visit Portland with new album

The trio from Glasgow has done it again. Their latest effort, In Your Own Sweet Time, delivers a cocktail of aural sunshine. If you know and love their 2006 debut Costello Music - which brought The Fratellis a Brit Award and the opportunity to take centerstage opening for iconic heroes The Rolling Stones and The Who – you'll want to tuck into this.

 OMN got a chance for a bit of a chinwag with Barry Fratelli when the band swung through The Roseland on this current US leg. “We’ve pushed the boat out on this one," said Barry.

 From “Stand Up Tragedy” that kicks it off with a rollicking frenzy, to “The Next Time We Wed” where the lyrics coax a grin, working up to the epic finale “I Am That," this new offering is an upbeat, mood altering journey from the first to final note. A tasty testimonial that harkens back to where they’ve been, lures you into where they are now and piques your curiosity for what they’ll deliver next.

 “I used to say in interviews around the time of Costello Music, that I'll be excited to see where we are on album number 4 or 5 if we make it that far, and here we are on album 5, and I'm in love with all of it at the minute,” declared Barry.

"This was written fairly quickly, though the chorus belonged to an older song in a different time signature that had been waiting for a home for a while.  It's one of those examples of songs arriving almost completely written and it's your job to just bring it to life." – Jon Fratelli
