By MATT HANSEN // AV project which remixes the storied career of Fleetwood Mac to return to Holocene
Don't get discouraged by the name, Fleetmac Wood is no Fleetwood Mac cover band. Rather the anagram of the name represents the groups ability to remix Fleetwood Mac into something entirely new and different. Helmed by DJs Roxanne Roll and Alex Oxley, Fleetmac Wood is your chance to see your favorite Fleetwood Mac songs remixed and polished with a new dance party atmosphere. And there's plenty to choose from when reimagining the band into electronic beats, Mick Fleetwood's pop fills, Stevie's vocals going from breathy to raspy, and who could forget Christine McVie's mezzo-soprano range.
Fleetwood Mac hasn't toured in over five years, and that's left us all yearning for new ways to experience the band's pop rock hits of the 70s which made them god-like in the world of songwriting. This is where Holocene comes in, as they have brought Fleetmac Wood to Portland for almost 5 years now, with the upcoming tour taking the name "Chiffon Dreams." Is it a coincidence that as soon as Fleetwood Mac stopped touring these wonderful dance parties honoring the band through electronic music popped up? We'll let you decide on November 22nd when the project returns to Holocene, potentially bridging the gap of generations of pop music fans who may only know Stevie Nicks from her scarf dancing. Knock the dust off that old top hat, you have new reasons to boogie.
ON TOUR: FLEETMAC WOOD on Saturday, Nov. 22nd, 2025. Doors 8:30PM / (Tickets) 21+
