By MATT HANSEN // Music festival newcomer Punk Rock Pride returns to Portland this June for a day of loud riffs, drag performances, and community-minded protest
Pride Month isn't celebrated in Portland until July. But if you're looking for an alternative to hectic summer music festivals, and an experience right in your own backyard, then mark your calendars for Punk Rock Pride. On Saturday June 20th, not_a_phase_pdx has produced another highly walkable music festival across three venues between 64th and 66th on SE Foster in Portland (Bar Carlo, Performance Works, Starday Tavern).
Punk Rock Pride is just as much a protest as it is a party, and an opportunity to educate as well as entertain. Punk Rock Pride was formed to give a platform to the enduring resistance of LGBTQIA people against the current political climate. And the festival's message stretches across several art forms besides local punk rock bands, whether it be drag performances, queer comedy, or even flash tattooing.
$15 wristbrand for live music, drag bingo and comedy will be available day of on-site. All proceeds from Punk Rock Pride 2026 will be going to Outside In, who has been working tirelessly for almost six decades to bring accessible healthcare and services to some of Portland’s most vulnerable communities, which includes LGBTQIA programming and access to gender-affirming care.
