Ann Wilson played an intimate show at Salem's Elsinore Theatre. This show was a departure from her usual days in Heart and show a more personal side of her as an artist. She is currently paying tribute to the music artists we have sadly lost and she is celebrating some of those songs that are close to her with an upcoming release titled Immortal due in September.
The Elsinore Theatre show highlighted some of these Immortal songs and includee some of her other favorites. Ann Wilson added nice touches to The Black Crowes “She Talks to Angels” and turned out a powerful rendition of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again”. Her pain could be felt in Audioslave’s “I Am the Highway” with the loss of Chris Cornell.
She also showed where she gets some of her strengths from in songs like “I Put A Spell on You” and “You Don’t Own Me”. Her lead guitarist and friend Craig Bartock for example played some soulful blues and simply unleashed on “Love, Reign O'er Me” by the Who. The band as a whole put on a special show treating her fans to a show they have never seen before. In the end, she once again showed why this woman is in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
