Evanescence and Halestorm with Plush at Veterans Memorial Coliseum on 11/5/21

Portland rock fans were recently treated to the tour kickoff show featuring Evanescence and Halestorm at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum. The tour combo of Evanescence and Halestorm brings together two of rock’s strongest female musicians. While both Evanescence’s Amy Lee and Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale are two powerful forces in their own groups, they were also sweet moments when they shared the stage together.

The show’s highlight came early on during Halestorm’s set. The tender piano track, “Break In” from Halestorm’s 2012’s The Strange Case of album brought out the surprise duet with Amy Lee. These kinds of surprise moments are what the fans simply love to see. It was a pure moment of joy and friendship in music. Amy Lee would later thank the crowd early in the Evanescence set since it was this show was the band’s return to live music after more than two years due to the pandemic.

There was another duet that followed during Evanescence’s set when Lzzy then came out and joined as a guest for the Lincoln Park cover “Heavy”. Both bands showed passion throughout the night, fire and lot of smiles showing how much they all missed the stage. A newer band, Plush opened the show kicking off the night strong.
