Trombone Shorty headlines 2019 Waterfront Blues Festival

By SCOTT CUNNINGHAM // Festival runs July 4-7

It is official: Trombone Shorty will close out the 2019 Waterfront Blues Festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland on Sunday, July 7.

Festival organizers made the announcement today as a teaser to this year's event.

Shorty (Troy Andrews) is part of the fabled New Orleans Andrews family and is the current torch-bearer for NOLA music. His career has skyrocketed over the past decade and he and his band Orleans Avenue are in high demand globally for the summer festival circuit.

This year's event kicks off on Thursday, July 4, and runs for four consecutive days. Select 4-day passes are available now, with more becoming available on the festival's website Feb. 15.

As always, Oregon Music News will be there with the most complete day-to-day coverage of the festival. Stay tuned for more!
