By MEGHAN KEARNEY // Lost Lander returns home to share the stage with Deep Sea Diver and Hosannas
Portland’s own Lost Lander will play a home town show on Friday, May 20 at Mississippi Studios. Joining them and headlining the show Seattle’s Deep Sea Diver alongside opener, another Portland favorite, Hosannas.
This show will be the first Lost Lander home show, save for Valentine’s day love songs at Doug Fir, in many months and for good reason. Matt Sheehy front man of the band has spent the better part of the last year touring with EL VY, a project of Lost Lander producer, fellow Portlander Brett Knopf and The National’s Matt Berninger.
Lost Lander’s most recent album Medallions, released in early 2015, is full of catchy pop-rock hits with a beloved hint of Portland sounds spread throughout. For fans of Portland artists like The Shins or Typhoon, Lost Lander should be right on your radar, bringing similar sounds but with a style all their own.
Sarah Fennel on keys compliments Sheehy’s vocals with William Marsh on bass and Patrick Hughes on drums. Expect an energetic and joyful hometown set from this local fave back to Portland’s stage.
Make sure to come early and stay late for the rest of this Pacific Northwest hat trick. Portland's Hosannas will kick off the show. With sounds ranging from electronic, to power pop, to psych rock and all things in between, Hosannas is a set not to be late for. Seattle’s indie rockin’ Deep Sea Diver, fronted by Jessica Dobson is headlining the night on the heels of their newest full-length release Secrets.
