This month PDX Spotlight gets funky as Goldfoot kicks off season 3.   This is a band that should be seen live and they don’t disappoint in the studio environment.  Lead singer Trevor Forbes is engaging and groovy from the first note and the combination of he and singer/drummer Ruth Heald strikes the perfect blend of highs and lows (Trevor often singing the highs!).  Goldfoot is a group of classically trained musicians and it shows.   Ruth is an accomplished opera singer and Church choir director, and bass player Elijah Medina when not rocking the stage with Goldfoot, plays with the Portland Columbia Symphony as an orchestral bassist.   Guitarist Joe McClain is the ideal compliment to the other 3 with often screaming guitar riffs that somehow fit perfectly with their funky sound.
