What The Festival Releases First Lineup Announcement

By MEGHAN KEARNEY // First What The Festival Lineup includes Grammatik, Classixx, Giraffage, Cut Copy, Barclay Crenshaw, and more!

What The Festival, Oregon's premier and passionately loved boutique electronic music and art festival has dropped its first lineup announcement! A two hour drive outside of Portland, What The Festival offers a fully immersive weekend summer getaway near Dufur, OR from June 16th-19th.

Check out the lineup announcement:

New surprises await each year, enter last year’s introduction of the Groove Qube. A stage, more like a neon castle, built with glowing water barrels deep in the woods where you can dance until the sun rises. In 2015, the festival introduced The Dragon stage which hoists DJ’s atop its crows nest while the stage literally breathes fire. What will be in store this year?

What The Festival brings a consistent annual lineup of the biggest names in electronic paired with local up and comers, but what makes What The Festival stand out from other summer fests is its vast array of art, community, and well-being. Don’t stop at the music. Enter the Illuminated Forest by night and revert to all of your best childhood memories, climbing trees, running through woods from any magical creature that could be dreamt up.

At What The Festival, you can be an adult and do that all over again. Interactive art installations in years past have included such pieces as a life-sized Lite Brite, a flaming chandelier, or a climbable spider web-style net strewn up into the trees. Lounge inside of a giant pillowed clam, run through illuminated jellyfish tentacles, or climb into an onion and make beats with your fest friends. Fancy playing Mario Kart 64 on a jumbotron in the middle of the woods? Yup, they’ve got that too.

By morning, take some time in the spa where you can find earth friendly showers complete with harp player and burning incense, or head in for a message after a long night in the forest. Feeling more active, What The Festival has a long list of morning classes from hula hooping to yoga.

And let’s not forget the Splash Pool. Bring your swimsuits and floaties for the best all-day pool party in the entire Pacific Northwest.

If you’re looking for a weekend where you can truly let go of reality, and we mean in a way you probably never dreamed of, get your tickets to What The Festival before they sell out. And sell out they will.

Tickets are on sale now and you can get them here. All weekend passes include walk-in camping, and with a carpool of 3 or more you’ll only pay $10 for parking! (Be sure to plan for this and pre-purchase a carpool voucher). If you want to show up for the party early, and commit to extra perks like showers, drinks, and classes, upgrade to the OMG pass.
