Seth Walker brings his rootsy sound to Portland

By SCOTT CUNNINGHAM // Southern roots artist plays White Eagle Saloon on Thursday

Seth Walker swings through Portland this week with a date at the White Eagle Saloon on Thursday. The critically acclaimed Walker has just released his latest single, Spirits Moving, in advance of a live album set to drop later this month.

Walker's music doesn't fit neatly into categories. His sound is a sweet combination of blues and Southern roots rock, with traces of gospel, R&B, and even some country. As a testament to his varied style, he has opened for acts such as The Mavericks, Ruthie Foster, and The Wood Brothers.

His smooth vocals are similar to Harry Connick Jr. and his guitar playing is every bit as solid. Catching him up close in a smaller room like the White Eagle will be a treat.

ON TOUR: Seth Walker will be at the White Eagle Saloon in Portland on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 8:00PM. Tickets are still available.
