Josh Abbott Band to play Dante's

The Josh Abbott Band swings through Portland tonight (Mar. 16) when they visit Dante's along with William Clark Green.

Abbott has been making an impact on country music for quite some time, but it was with 2015's "Front Row Seat" release that the band carved out their most ambitious slice of music real estate. Rolling Stone Country said the album "Goes out on a limb in a way country hasn't seen in decades."

Based in Texas, Abbott has grown into a tremendous song writer, managing to explore the full range of emotional experience with seeming ease. Which isn't as easy as it sounds. His vocals are warm and inviting, carving out a middle ground between classic country crooning and a more pop-ish, southern soul style.

This is a show well worth checking out. Doors are 8:00pm, with music kicking off at 9:00pm. Tickets are still available.
