From now until Tuesday evening, Bruce Springsteen fans can grab a free copy of his January 19 gig at Chicago's United Center.
The show is part of his current The River Tour. For music historians, the download includes Springsteen's performance of Take It Easy, played in honor of Glenn Frey. The set opens with Meet Me In the City, which was an out take from The River, and then launches into a full performance of The River (both albums) and a five song encore.
To grab the show, all you have to do is go to the downloads page for Springsteen albums and shows. It requires registering for the site with an email address, but no other information is collected. After selecting the show and registering, you will be asked to confirm the transaction before being taken to the download page itself.
Be careful here, though: You will want to click on the name of the entire show, not the button that says Download All (this button will only download the first song). All songs are MP3's, but higher quality versions will be available for purchase later this week. Enjoy!
