By: NINO ORTIZ // At Holocene on February 13, the group will be featuring a new album that inspires change.

Toronto-based electronic music project Austra will play at Holocene on Monday, February 13. The New York City-based electronic producer James Hinton, also known as The Range, will join them.

Portland is just one of many cities on Austra’s international tour that spans North America and Europe which features their newest album, Future Politics. The album boasts a seductive blend of synthesized beats and chilling vocals of leader Katie Stelmanis.

Released on the same day as Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, Future Politics delivers a synthesized call-to-action against political retrograde. The album asks its audience to be engaged with the political system and demand change for a better future for the entire human race.

The Range will be featuring his newest album, Potential, which focuses on his sonic influences from 90’s and 00’s electronica while utilizing and introducing samples from unknown YouTube artists.

Austra @ Holocene | February 13, 2017 | 8:30PM | 21 and over only.
