Airborne is the album from his jam-funk band.
We are told:
Just off an explosive spring/summer season that included performances at a sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater (on keys with Emancipator Ensemble), headlining sets at Beloved Festival and Oregon Country Fair with The Everyone Orchestra’s cast of rockstars, and a headlining set at Northwest String Summit with Yonder Mountain String Band for their highly-regarded Pink Floyd tribute set, PNW keyboardist Asher Fulero is heading strong into the fall with Airborne, an exhilarating new concert EP from his eponymous 5-piece powerhouse jam/funk ensemble, Asher Fulero Band.
Pro shot and multitrack by Visual Suplex during a June 2016 shoot at the Goodfoot Pub & Lounge in Portland Oregon (the band’s hometown musical family room), ‘Airborne’ is the perfect companion piece to last fall’s studio release, ‘Catching Air’, featuring high-powered live versions of 3 of the album cuts plus one new piece.
Unapologetically long and undeniably danceable, the live videos also feature an amazing lightshow from longtime collaborator Lights Up Loud (currently on tour as LD for Colorado funksters The Motet). They show the band at it’s tightest, showcasing many of Fulero’s groundbreaking keyboard techniques for the first time. You’ve truly never seen or heard playing like this from a keyboardist before. Fulero draws on styles from all his favorite Rock, Funk, Jazz, Fusion, and Live-tronica players and combines them fluidly into a guitar-like shredding style that you won’t believe, all supported by a backing band stacked with experienced ringers who can all play their instruments into the ground.
The videos are being released via the band’s YouTube channel one-per-Tuesday beginning today, September 20th, with the full album download available on the band’s Bandcamp pageTuesday October 11th. The Audio will be available at ‘Name Your Price’, but supporters who donate $5 or more will be given private Download Codes for the Video files.
