DVD: Judas Priest's 'Battle Cry' captures the 'Metal Gods' at Wacken '15

Judas Priest’s new ‘Battle Cry’ DVD (there’s also a companion CD) was recorded in the summer of 2015 at the Wacken Festival. ‘Battle Cry’ titled after a track on the band’s 2014 studio album ‘Redeemer of Souls;’ which received favorable reviews and marked the debut of guitarist Richie Faulkner who reinvigorated the mighty Priest both in the live and studio setting.
The ‘Battle Cry’ DVD/Blu Ray contains 3 bonus tracks; “Screaming for Vengeance,” “The Rage,” and “Desert Plains” filmed in Poland on the same tour. While Priest has had to ‘drop down’ to accommodate Rob Halford’s vocal change over the years; it’s been a subtle process and isn’t noticeable to the casual fan.
‘Battle Cry’ features fan favorites; “Metal Gods,” “Beyond the Realms of Death,” “Jawbreaker,” “Breaking the Law,” “Hell Bent for Leather,” “The Hellion/Electric Eye,” “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming,” and “Painkiller.” Of course there’s material off ‘Redeemer of Souls’ sprinkled in for good measure. While there’s been several Judas Priest DVDs over the last few years; ‘Battle Cry’ is a release that both diehard and casual fans would love to have in their collection.
