The Tenors perform in Portland on Valentines Day and also in Pendleton 2/12 & 13

By RUBEN MOSQUEDA // Group member Clifton Murray says “We hope to add a little something extra for the performance on such special day,”

The Tenors (formerly known as The Canadian Tenors) will be making their way to Portland on February 14th to Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. The vocal quartet consists of Remigio Pereira, Victor Micallef, Fraser Walters, and Clifton Murray. The Tenors perform their unique brand of operatic pop music; that is merges contemporary and classical music seamlessly.

The Tenors have shared the stage over the years with the likes of Paul McCartney, Neil Young, (the late) Natalie Cole, Sara McLachlan, amongst others. In addition The Tenors have appeared on numerous television shows over the course of their career such as; The Emmy Awards, the 2010 Winter Olympics, The 2009 Grey Cup and you guessed it...The Oprah Winfrey Show.

On their latest effort ‘Under One Sky’ issued in May of 2015 The Tenors worked with a couple of Canadian powerhouse producers; Bob Ezrin who has worked with KISS, Alice Cooper and Pink Floyd and David Foster who is known for his work with Michael Bublé, Chicago, Natalie Cole, The Corrs and Céline Dion amongst others. The results is their most critically acclaimed and most accessible record to date.

Group member Clifton Murray says “That’s right. We hope to add a little something extra for the performance on such special day,” when asked about the added pressures of performing in Portland on Valentine's Day. The Tenors certainly have their fans but have they personally ever been star struck when meeting one of their favorite celebrities? “Funny you should bring that up. I was Mexico celebrating my birthday a few years ago and I had an encounter with George Clooney who was there on vacation. I’ve never in my life been star struck like that. My tongue twisted and was barely able to get sentence out of my mouth.” So there you have it; even celebrities get star struck by other celebrities.

In addition to The February 14th, date in Portland at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall they have additional dates in Pendleton, Oregon at The Wildhorse Casino on February 12th and 13th.
