DVD: The Rolling Stones -From The Vault Live In Leeds '82

By RUBEN MOSQUEDA //

The footage has been perfectly restored and the music has been remastered and remixed using today’s technology.

The partnership between The Rolling Stones and Eagle Rock Entertainment continues with their ‘From The Vault’ series of classic, previously unreleased (though often bootlegged) concerts from the ‘World’s Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band’ The Rolling Stones. For this edition we have the Stone’s performance captured at Roundhay Park in Leeds, England on July 25th, 1982. As many of the die-hards know this was the last date of their European Tour. The band toured extensively around the world behind the critically acclaimed and now classic album ‘Tattoo You.’

The Rolling Stones featured close to half of ‘Tattoo You’ in this tour which would be unheard of in 2015; when new material is a cue for a restroom break or an appropriate time to grab another beer. “Start Me Up” became the hit single off ‘Tattoo You’ and has become a staple in their set since. The Leeds performance was also to be the last time that Ian Stewart was featured playing piano with the band.

As with most of the classic concert series that Eagle Rock has been a part of throughout the years; the footage has been perfectly restored and the music has been remastered and remixed using today’s technology. If you’re a fan or casual fan for that matter; I don’t need to tell you the importance The Rolling Stones to rock ‘n’ roll history and their influence on artists for the past 40 years.

While a package like this will be snatched up by their rabid fans even those that own the heavily circulated bootlegs; it could also be a great gift for the casual fan for the holidays. ‘Live In Leeds ‘82’ features all the usual suspects; “Under My Thumb,” “Let’s Spend The Night Together,” “Beast Of Burden,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Jumpin Jack Flash,” “Angie,” “Tumblin’ Dice,” “Miss You,” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Start Me Up,” and “Brown Sugar” amongst others. You simply can’t lose with ‘The Vault: Live In Leeds ‘82.’
